Doreen Nakagaayi

Dr. Doreen Nakagaayi is an Associate Consultant Adult Cardiologist at the Uganda Heart Institute, where she serves as the Training Coordinator for the Adult Cardiology Fellowship Training Program. She completed her specialist training in Internal Medicine and Adult Cardiology in Uganda and further advanced her research training through a Postdoctoral Diploma in Clinical and Translational Research at the University of Cincinnati, followed by a fellowship with the American Heart Association Strategic Focused Research Network.

She is a clinician-scientist, investigator with the Rheumatic Heart Disease Research Collaborative Uganda (RRCU), and a PhD candidate whose research focuses on rheumatic heart disease, cardiovascular health in pregnancy, and innovative strategies to improve cardiovascular care in low-resource settings.
