Dr Isaac Ssinabulya

Senior Consultant Cardiologist: Uganda Heart Institute, Makerere University | Co-Director: Uganda Initiative for NCDs | Assistant Professor Adjunct | Department of Internal Medicine - Yale School of Medicine

Dr Ssinabulya leads cardiovascular and NCD research in Uganda. He heads the PEN-Plus implementation for severe chronic NCDs – building capacity at mid-level health facilities and runs mHealth projects for heart failure and hypertension control in several health facilities.

He is the Patron for the Uganda Rheumatic Heart Disease patient support group.

His work focuses on Hypertension, Rheumatic heart disease, Heart Failure, HIV-related cardiometabolic risks and integrated NCD-HIV care. He collaborates with several Universities on CVD training and research and has authored 70+ peer-reviewed papers on NCD’s in Uganda and beyond.

Dr Ssinabulya is a dedicated doctor, researcher, teacher, mentor and patient advocate.
