James Marangou

Dr James Marangou is a consultant cardiologist at Royal Perth Hospital and lead for the Kimberley cardiology service in Western Australia. He is a PhD candidate with Menzies School of Health Research studying early detection of RHD and implementation of echocardiography screening during pregnancy care in high-risk populations in Northern Australia and Timor Leste. Dr Marangou is co-first author of the 2023 World Heart Federation echocardiographic diagnosis of RHD guidelines, co-editor of the Australian ARF/RHD management guideline and a technical advisor to The Strep A Vaccine Global Consortium (SAVAC).
