Sharon Lockyer

Sharon Lockyer is a proud Nyul Nyul woman from Beagle Bay and an Aboriginal Health Research Translation Officer with WA Country Health Service in the Pilbara.

With more than 14 years' experience in Aboriginal health, Sharon has worked across sexual health promotion, immunisation, chronic disease management, child and family health, public health response and research translation.

She has supported communities during significant public health responses, including the Pilbara diphtheria outbreak response, and has played a key role in improving access to culturally safe immunisation and preventative health services across rural and remote communities.

Sharon was awarded the 2025 Aboriginal Health Practitioner of the Year Award and is currently completing a Diploma of Indigenous Research through Charles Darwin University
