Tayamika Tambala

Tayamika Tambala is a dedicated and compassionate cardiac nurse with over eight years of professional experience in research, care and management of patient living with Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) in Malawi. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Sciences Education from Kamuzu College of Nursing and is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Public Health, further strengthening her knowledge and skills in disease prevention, health promotion, public health programming and population -based approaches to health care.

Tayamika has extensive experience in cardiac nursing, patient centered care, health education, follow up care and the management of patient affected by Rheumatic Heart Disease and other cardiovascular conditions. Her work with RHD patient has given her valuable insights into long term clinical and social challenges associated with the disease and the importance of prevention, early intervention, treatment adherence and continuous patient support.

In additional to her clinical responsibilities. Tayamika currently serves as a Project Nurse Manager for the Malawi Recruitment site of the Acute Rheumatic Fever Collective (ARC) study. She is

committed to advancing patient centered and evidence based cardiac care, strengthening community and health systems approaches to Rheumatic Heart Disease, and contributing to research and public health initiatives that improve the quality and accessibility of pediatric cardiovascular healthcare in Malawi.
