To facilitate attendance at the World Congress on Rheumatic Heart Disease, and ensure as many members of the RHD community as possible can attend, travel grants are available to delegates from low- or middle-income countries (LMIC)*.

Travel grants are of a set amount, depending on the applicant’s country:

  • AUD $1,500 for delegates living in an LMIC in Oceania (including Pacific Island countries) and South East Asia (including Timor-Leste)

  • AUD $2,000 for delegates living in an LMIC in South Asia

  • AUD $2,500 for delegates living in an LMIC in Africa, Sub-Sahara, Latin America & South America.

As a limited number of travel grants are available, recipients will be prioritized according to the following criteria:

  • Abstract accepted for presentation at the Congress.

  • Income group of the applicant’s country of residence (prioritization of low- and low-middle income countries).

  • Impact of the applicant’s research and/or advocacy work, based on submission of an up-to-date CV.

The Congress Organizing Committee is solely responsible for determining travel grant recipients.
