Jeremiah Mwangi
Jeremiah Mwangi is Executive Director of Reach, where he leads the organisation's work to end rheumatic heart disease (RHD) and address severe chronic non-communicable diseases and injuries among populations living in extreme poverty. At Reach, a key component of Jeremiah's work is working with ministries of health to design programmatic approaches to RHD prevention and management within existing healthcare systems.
Previously, as Director of Policy and Advocacy at the World Heart Federation, Jeremiah spearheaded a successful global campaign for a World Health Assembly Resolution on rheumatic fever and RHD. Through RHD Action, he has continued to bring together the African Union, WHO Regional Offices for Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean, national governments, the private sector and civil society to advance this agenda, representing civil society and working closely with Member State Missions in Geneva and ministry of health technical leads.
Jeremiah holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics and a Master's in Public Policy from Brunel University.
