Professor Philippe Pibarot

Philippe Pibarot is a full professor at the Department of Medicine of Laval University, the head of Cardiology Research, the director of the echocardiography core laboratory at Québec Heart & Lung Institute, and the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Heart Valve Society.

The objective of his research program is to develop and validate novel patient-oriented approaches to improve the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of valvular heart diseases. He holds the Canada Research Chair. He has published >1000 articles and presented >2500invited presentations, his publications have been cited more than 115,000 times, and his H-Index is 141.

He has been listed among the 1% most influential scientists in the field of Clinical Medicine every year since 2018. He is ranked #2 overall and #1 for the last 6 years among all scientists at Université Laval. He has won 12 research awards and 2 teaching awards. Seven researchers he has mentored are now leading international RCTs.
