Professor Sulafa Ali

Dr. Sura Markos Gobu, MD, FACC, is an Adult Cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Hawassa University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital, Ethiopia, where he serves as Head of the Cardiology Unit.

His clinical and academic interests include rheumatic heart disease, heart failure, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease prevention in sub-Saharan Africa.

He currently serves as Site Principal Investigator for Ethiopia's National Rheumatic Heart Disease Registry, alongside the National HFrEF Registry and the THESUS-HF II multicenter heart failure survey.

Dr. Gobu is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and is committed to improving cardiovascular care, research capacity, and access to evidence-based prevention and treatment strategies across Africa
